Casa Mariposa is made for unhurried family time. It sits inside a private residential community between Playa Sámara and Playa Buena Vista, which keeps the house quiet while both beaches stay close.

The house is colonial in style, with wood-panelled ceilings and air conditioning in the living room and in two of the bedrooms. Three bedrooms sleep up to eight: one with a queen bed and one with a king, both air-conditioned, and a third with a queen, a double and a single bed.

Outside, large trees shade the grounds and give the property its naturally welcoming feel. There is covered parking, and a rancho beside the pool — the spot for a long lunch out of the sun or an evening that carries on after dinner.
