Prados del Sol sits about 20 minutes by car from Sámara Beach, inside a secure, picturesque gated community in Guanacaste, on the Sámara–Nosara road. It is a quiet address and you will need a car (part of the road into town is unpaved and bumpy), but both kinds of day stay within reach: one spent out in Sámara, one spent doing very little at all.

The house has three spacious bedrooms and two well-appointed bathrooms, room enough for a family or a group of friends to spread out. Guests have unrestricted access to a large swimming pool, which is where most afternoons end up. Indoors there is air conditioning, WiFi and cable television; outside, a lawn, a barbecue and an outdoor shower.

Barrigona Beach lies about 10 minutes away by car, a hidden stretch of crystalline water and golden sand. Sámara, about 20 minutes' drive, brings local cooking and no shortage of outdoor activity. Laundry, washer and dryer, is on site, so longer stays look after themselves.
